Bathroom Remodel Details

The design goal for this West Hartford primary bathroom renovation was to create a relaxing, inviting, and timeless space with classic appeal.

Subtle detailing pairs with a thoughtful pop of color, while a lighter overall palette—enhanced by bright, reflective chrome finishes—helps to open up and illuminate the room. The largest wall in the bathroom, previously underutilized, was transformed into a striking accent feature with textured, patterned wallpaper, adding depth and visual interest.

Functionality was also elevated: the shower was expanded to provide a more comfortable experience and now includes a built-in bench, and the vanity was extended wall-to-wall to maximize counter space and improve daily usability. The space was thoughtfully planned with aging in place in mind, incorporating blocking within the shower walls for future grab bars and a handheld showerhead positioned adjacent to the bench to support seated use when needed—allowing the homeowners to enjoy their forever bathroom now without the immediate visual presence of accessibility features.
